The Spanish Research and Education Network (RedIRIS) 2016 event took place in the City of Valencia. Founded as a Roman colony by the consul Decimus Junius Brutus Callaicus in 138 BC, Valencia is a UNESCO World Intangible Heritage Site both by the “Falles” festival and by the “Water Court”, institution to handle water use conflicts with roots in the roman era. The event took place at the School of Agricultural Engineering and Environment (ETSIAMN) addressing campus networks, efficient resources management and optimization, cloud computing, big data and analytics, education services, corporate applications and speeches focused on key subjects.
